Memorial Jewelry

I'm really excited to share this memorial piece with all of you. My friend had a sentimental necklace from her father, but it wasn't something she would actually wear much. After his passing she commissioned me to remodel the charm into something she could enjoy all the time. Here is the result! First, I cut the loop off the charm and set it in silver on the end of the cuff. Then, I hand cut his initials from sterling silver sheet and soldered them to the center. The mirrored silver shape on the other end of the cuff was added for balance as an afterthought. I could not be more pleased with the result. I love when the materials and their physical properties drive the direction of the design. Good and unexpected things often happen.  I am so thankful for the opportunity to design such a meaningful piece of jewelry. I lost my father in a car accident ten years ago, and I know how special mementos like this can be. If I can help you honor a loved one please let me know by clicking the link below.
